Space Apart is a conceptual photographic series exploring the intricacies of embodied dialogue between two female performers. The camera becomes a silent witness to an improvised interaction where gestures, bodies, and textures communicate in the absence of words.

The black and white aesthetic strips the scene to its essential elements, emphasising the subtleties of movement, the tensions of proximity, and the choreography unfolding in the spaces between bodies. Through this lens, the work navigates the quiet negotiations of intimacy, distance, and the body's gestures of longing.

Texture plays a central role, skin, fabric, and hands become conduits for exploring vulnerability and trust. The photographs do not follow a linear narrative but instead present a sequence of moments where connection, separation, and the desire for closeness co-exist.

A part of the contact sheet, included within the series, extends the gesture across multiple frames, reflecting on the repetition and continuity of these encounters. The work becomes a meditation on the body as both subject and language, offering a poetic reflection on the complexities of human connection, absence, and the unspoken dialogues we carry in our bodies.
